Travel Safety Tips

Be alert.

You can now schedule travel alerts through Mobile Banking and WebConnect! This will ensure your credit and debit cards continue to work while you're away from home. You can also set up travel alerts by calling (800) 982-7850.

Make a couple copies.

Before you leave for your trip, create copies of all of your essential information. This includes your passport, driver’s license, credit cards, traveler's checks, and any other important information you deem necessary. Make sure to leave one copy of all of your important documents at home and bring the other copy with you on your trip.

Take only what you need.

Use your credit card or traveler’s checks for the majority of your purchases instead of carrying large amounts of cash with you. By knowing what you are doing that day you can roughly guess how much cash you will need verses what you can put on your credit card. Only take the cash you will need.

Don’t give out too much information.

Instead of writing down all of your information on your luggage tags, just put your phone number. That is plenty of information for your luggage to find its way back to you if it gets misplaced.

Facebook can wait.

Wait until you are back home to post about your trip on social media. You don’t want to post about your trip before or during the vacation because people can use that information to know that you are not home to break in.
